Petronas Signs Long-Term deal for Liquefaction Capacity with Cedar LNG

Pembina Pipeline Corp. says Malaysia’s Petronas has signed a 20-year deal for one million tonnes per year of liquefaction capacity at the Cedar LNG project.

The deal gives Petronas, one of the largest natural gas producers in Canada, access to the planned natural gas export outlet on the B.C. north coast.

Cedar LNG is the liquefied natural gas facility in Kitimat, B.C., being developed by a partnership between Pembina and the Haisla Nation.

It is on track to be in service in late 2028.

Pembina previously signed a 20-year take-or-pay liquefaction tolling service agreement for 1.5 million tonnes per year of LNG at the project.
