There’s plenty good news and optimism in the oil and gas sector these days. The most recent projection by the Canadian Association of Energy Contractors (CAOEC) calls for a 25% increase in new wells drilled in 2022. That, combined with the highest global prices for oil and natural gas since 2014, indicates reason for optimism in the new year.
But that good news and optimism is being tempered by a labour shortage and supply chain issues, complicated by recent flooding in B.C. and the delay in getting supplies to the field for new drilling and on-going maintenance programs.
The global energy crisis happening now is also causing prices to soar for everything from electricity to groceries. Supplies that are destined for oil & gas production and regular facility maintenance or upgrades are not immune to these shortages or price increases.
Ready to Respond & Ship But Don’t Delay Your Orders
More drilling and more maintenance programs mean more producers and facilities are in need of pipe and associated pipe bends to tie-in production fields and processing facilities.
