Canada is a great energy country because we are home to some of the world’s greatest energy people.  Canadian energy has inspired some of the most talented, dedicated and imaginative hearts and minds this country has ever known.

The Canadian Energy Person of the Year Award was established in 2001 to recognize and pay tribute to a leader who has made a significant impact within the sector.  Nominations are based upon a candidate’s outstanding professional accomplishments and their positive reputation in the community at large.

Award recipients demonstrate an ability to balance the economic, environmental and social dimensions of energy development and delivery. Their accomplishments advance the Canadian energy sector nationally and internationally.

Last year, the Energy Council of Canada recognized the Frontline Canadian Energy Worker in special recognition of the extraordinary efforts made throughout the pandemic.

The Canadian Energy Person of the Year is chosen and celebrated by their energy industry peers.  Public nominations are welcome and are evaluated by the Energy Council of Canada’s Board of Directors.    The award will be presented in late November, 2022.
