Resource Works’ new national campaign, the Task Force for Real Jobs, Real Recovery, has just launched and we’d love your help getting the message out there.
The Task Force is supported by a coalition of over 25 industry associations, unions, professional organizations and Indigenous organizations representing the energy, manufacturing, transportation, forestry and construction sectors. A group of 20 expert advisors has been appointed to help develop and communicate a forthcoming set of policy recommendations for rebuilding Canada’s economic prosperity.
Together the Task Force represents over a quarter of a million businesses and over 3 million workers across Canada. And it proves that resource industries are rising to the challenge of the COVID-19 economic recovery.
Here’s what one of our advisors Patricia Mohr, economist & commodity market specialist and former Vice-President at Scotiabank, had to say:
“Canada owes its economic prosperity to large volume exports of commodities and resource-based manufactured goods, especially crude oil exports. As we rebuild and recover, we’ll need to grow our traditional resource-based industries, maintaining and improving their cost and carbon competitiveness, while at the same time developing new industries to diversify our economy.”
