CWB Group in partnership with ATCO is now offering its first Canada-focused Hydrostatic training program. Our introductory program was launched in January of this year and is a must-have for all personnel involved in the planning, execution, and inspection of hydrostatic testing and ensures that everyone involved in any given hydro test will have the same baseline training and safety protocols across Canada.
Current programs of this nature require students to travel to Houston, Texas for two days but now, with the launch of this new course, Canadian companies and employees will have the opportunity to learn and train locally. The program will provide a comprehensive review of hydrostatic theory augmented with in-class applied practical exercises and demonstration. The most exciting part of the program is that all those that train in the program will learn standard practices that will make their skills transferrable across Canada.
HTC is a highly accurate way of testing pipelines and prevents the rupturing of outdated equipment and can also avoid potential safety penalties for organizations making it a necessity in protecting the safety of Canadians by ensuring that the work done on critical building and infrastructure projects conforms to Canadian codes and standards. The program has been developed in partnership with ATCO Natural Gas, Pipelines Ltd., who not only offers expertise in the area but will partner with the CWB Group in the development of the practical materials required to test attendees in a real-world atmosphere. Our course includes fully up-to-date textbooks and exercise handouts, interactive 3D/VR elements and theory plus a practical examination. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion.

CSA Z662 requires that pressure tests are conducted under the direction of competent personnel (qualified, trained, and experienced to perform the required duties.)
