Taxpayers Federation reacts to federal approval of Trans Mountain pipeline expansion

OTTAWA, ON: Canadian Taxpayers Federation Federal Director Aaron Wudrick released the following statement in response to the Trudeau government’s decision to approve expansion of the Trans Mountain pipeline:

“We applaud the decision of the Trudeau government to finally move ahead with this important project. Canadian taxpayers are losing $3.6 million per day due the pipeline deficit, and the expansion of Trans Mountain will help recover part of this loss.

“In order for taxpayers to be made whole for being forced to pay for the purchase and expansion of Trans Mountain, it is imperative that the Trudeau government ensure construction gets underway as soon as possible.”
