Zargon Oil & Gas Ltd. Announces Appointment of Additional Director

CALGARY, Alberta, Feb. 21, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Zargon Oil & Gas Ltd. (the “Company” or “Zargon”) (TSX SYMBOL:  ZAR) announces the appointment of Glenn Koach to the Board of Directors effective February 21, 2019.

Mr. Koach is currently Co-Founder/Portfolio Manager of Concise Capital Management, LP. (“Concise”). Concise is an SEC-registered investment adviser with currently over $340 million US in assets under management that specializes in short duration, under-followed high yield bonds. On January 11, 2019 Concise, as the investment manager of certain managed accounts, settled 4,821,000 Zargon convertible debentures for 49,298,355 common shares, or 10.7% of Zargon’s outstanding shares.

Founded in 2004 by Glenn Koach and Tom Krasner, Concise is based in Miami, Florida. Mr. Koach has over 30 years of experience in managing short-term, high-yield funds.

Mr. Koach co-founded Riverside Capital Advisers in 1984, a boutique institutional investment management firm specializing in short-term, high-yield securities, where he was co-portfolio manager, and which he helped to grow to over $400 million in assets under management. The Riverside portfolio included publicly traded seasoned securities for large non-taxable accounts such as pension plans, endowments, and offshore funds, as well as private placement, tax lien, and structured settlements. As a corporate board director, Mr. Koach has guided several companies through difficult financial situations including, turn-arounds, workouts and bankruptcies. This experience gives him far greater insight into the under-pinning of high-yield offerings. In addition, Mr. Koach is an experienced corporate executive holding key positions with both public and private companies, including serving as: CEO of Group Long Distance, Inc. (GLDI) and Vice President of Strategic Planning for Tribune Cable Communications. Mr. Koach began his career as Senior Tax Specialist for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. and was a CPA. Mr. Koach holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a major in Finance and Accounting from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
