Our commitment to safety is a promise to ourselves, our co-workers and the families who rely and count on us. The goal is for us all to focus on preventing injury and illness in the workplace, at home and in the community.

We encourage everyone to take a safety pause during the day and reflect on “Working Safely” and the important people in our lives that we go home to every night.

We must stay focused on our fundamentals and continue to reinforce our safety culture to ensure that no one gets hurt. To help you with your safety skills, you can utilize the P.A.U.S.E technique.

Pause before you start a task. Stop and think, look at each step of the task and ask yourself if you are trained and well equipped with knowledge on how to complete the task safely and effectively.
Assess for possible hazards. Inspect the work area for potential hazards; identify the hazards associated with each task and create controls to mitigate those hazards.
Understand how to proceed safely. Are you trained and equipped to perform the task safely? Ask for help if you are unsure of how to perform the task or need help.
Share your plans with others. Suggest to your supervisors what actions you think are necessary to make the workplace safe.
Execute the task safely by following all safe work practices and lifesaving rules.
