Located in the heart of oil and gas country, Trojan Safety Services has been providing Medical, Safety, and Fire protection services to their clientele since 1994. From Trojan’s primary base of operations in Fort St John, BC, and their branch in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Trojan’s mandate has been to provide clients with personnel that live and breathe safety while being supported by top-of-the-line equipment. It’s been Trojan’s belief from day 1 that the wellbeing of the crews they are hired to protect get people that are well trained, and competent, with equipment that is reliable, to prevent an incident or respond to any emergency that arises.

Incidents are best managed through prevention, making their in-house trained H2S Safety Specialists a first line of defense against onsite hazards. Their team of H2S Safety Specialists provide the equipment and training necessary to keep crews safe while working in either known, or potential, hazardous atmospheres. Whether it’s providing breathing air, or gas monitoring systems, providing overwatch for Confined Space operations, or completing emergency drills, their team has robust knowledge, and procedures to ensure an effective safety program at every site. H2S Safety Specialists become extremely diverse in their understanding of all aspects of the industry from drilling & completion operations to plant turnarounds with High-Angle Rescue, and Confined Space Rescue, these individuals gain a comprehensive understanding of an extremely dynamic industry. Whether their crews are responsible for preventing an injury through providing protective equipment and direction, or they are responsible to respond after a situation has arisen, they ensure that each and every one of them is trained, competent and capable of fulfilling their duties to the fullest.

With strong policies and practices from all stakeholders including energy companies, and service companies alike, incidents are becoming increasingly rare. However, nothing in this world is perfect, and whether it be a small cut, or a significant event, having a trained and competent Medic (Occupational First Aid Level 3’s, Emergency Medical Responder’s, and Primary Care Paramedic’s), with reliable equipment can be the key to someone getting another day with the people they love. All Trojan’s Medical personnel are certified to operate in their designated province, and are aware, and capable, of responding to any event, including getting injured personnel off location, and to the highest level of care in the shortest amount of time possible. That’s why Trojan keeps their fleet of Mobile Treatment Centers (MTC’s) modern, utilizing only trucks that are 4 years or newer. Because when someone’s life is on the line, having a reliable extraction vehicle is a must.

If a fire breaks out during high-risk operations, Trojan’s team of Firefighters are ready to respond by either attacking the fire or executing a rescue for downed personnel. All Trojan Firefighters possess the certifications required to get on with any municipal hall in North America, while being supported by the same pumps used by those halls, and annually tested to the same standards. Their fire units have pumps capable of pumping up to 1500 gallons of water per minute (GPM) to quickly suppress fires. Couple that with onboard firefighting foam, and an onboard shower bay for decontaminating workers that may be exposed to caustic substances, and you’ve got the team and equipment ready to respond.

In addition, Trojan operates a fleet of Air Quality Monitoring units capable of detecting H2S, SO2, and other noxious gases in amounts as small as one part per billion (1 PPB) to protect the public, and the environment from unintended release of these gases.
