CALGARY, Alberta—(August 11, 2021) – Alstar Group (“Alstar”) is pleased to announce that it has successfully attained Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) Phase 2 Committed status from the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB).
The CCAB is a national non-profit that fosters relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people, communities and businesses.
“We are honoured to be recognized by the CCAB, an organization that is a steward for Indigenous businesses and peoples. We look forward to progressing in our PAR journey to Gold and working alongside Indigenous communities to create a more diverse workforce and sustainability for future generations” said Scott Fofonoff, CEO of Alstar.
The CCAB’s PAR Program is the only certification program of its kind in Canada and confirms corporate performance in Indigenous relations at the Committed, Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. The PAR Program measures performance in four key areas:
- Leadership Actions
- Employment
- Business Development
- Community Relationships
Alstar’s recognition at the PAR Committed level validates its commitment to continuous improvement in Indigenous relations and its intention to work towards obtaining PAR Gold Certification.
“At Alstar we have always strived to incorporate Indigenous Peoples and communities into our projects by providing opportunities in employment, education and business development so that together we can grow and prosper, ” explains Kris Ring, Executive Vice President and CMO of Alstar. “What the PAR Program has done for us is provide the necessary framework to bring our preexisting Indigenous relations to the next level.”
