The GEKKO: – A Portable phased-array ultrasonic flaw detector with industry leading Total Focus Method (TFM) functionality.

GEKKO is a robust and portable advanced UT tool that can cover traditional PAUT requirements and Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) along with TFM to improve POD and accessibility, when required.

It’s versatility, accuracy and high  quality imaging can provide clients with the best possible resolution for all their UT challenges; including welds, HIC, corrosion pitting and bolt/thread corrosion.

TFM can be used as an alternative to High Energy RT on extremely thick components e.g Castings and Forgings from 100mm (4”) to 250mm (10”), with intrinsic depth evaluation.

The Gekko is compliant with all code requirements for its traditional applications and with its TFM functionality transcends these requirements, as necessary, for nonstandard situations.

3-AXIS ENCODED NOZZLE INSPECTION USING GEKKO

With the possibility to define nozzle type geometries on-board, the GEKKO can be used for 3-axis encoded nozzle inspections. Sscan images superimposed on the Cross-section overlays of the nozzle are calculated as the operator moves the probes.
