The Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC) is excited to announce the introduction of a new Directional Drilling Division consisting of seven directional drilling companies:
- Cathedral Energy Services
- Clear Directional Drilling Solutions Ltd.
- Compass Directional Services Ltd.
- Ensign Directional
- Millennium Directional Drilling Services Ltd.
- Optimax Drilling Solutions Inc.
- Precision Directional Services
CAODC’s Directional Drilling Division is the first new division for the Association since Offshore Members were introduced in 1980. It is also the first of several anticipated new divisions comprised of leaders in energy services; companies and people who understand the importance of addressing the challenges facing the Canadian oil and gas industry in the most effective way possible.
“Our industry is the biggest economic driver in the country,” says CAODC CEO Mark A. Scholz, “and CAODC is expanding its membership at a crucial time. We can create a future filled with good jobs and clean energy for Canadians from all corners of the country, but the steps we take now are critical, and we need everyone at the table.”
Clear Directional Drilling Solutions Ltd. President, Jerry Raduy, feels the new division will provide value for all stakeholders, particularly customers. “CAODC membership really lends credibility for the specialty work we do to help exploration and production companies, and is a step change to be even more efficient in how we operate.”

CAODC welcomes each new member of the Directional Drilling division. “These companies are leaders who are focused on building the best industry possible,” says Scholz. “If we do this well, we have a chance to help a lot of Canadians recover from difficult times.”
In the coming months, the Association plans to continue to explore additional membership expansion opportunities.
