As Canadian employers continue to be impacted by COVID-19, the Canadian government has amended its support programs to better serve all businesses, including extending the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) and introducing a new Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy.
However, many businesses are struggling to determine eligibility requirements and understand the nuances of the government programs to calculate how much support they may be entitled to claim.
In addition, employers may be facing additional reporting requirements related to many of their employees working from home.
KPMG in Canada hosted a webinar to discuss changes to these government programs and other challenges faced by employers.
The webcast covered:
- Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) legislative updates
- CEWS revenue concepts
- CEWS audit activity
- Home office expense support for employees
- Automating the completion of Form T2200/TP-64.3-V for employees
- The new Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy.
