Gas Interference and Gas Locking are leading causes of bottomhole pump inefficiency, and can happen regardless of gross gas rates and whether your well experiences high or low Gas Liquid Ratios. Vertical poor-boy gas separators, pump intake placement and operational practices can only go so far in preventing gas from filling up the pump barrel—pumps need to be able to stoke efficiently in spite of gas handling requirements.
Raise Production’s HARPTM – High Angle Reciprocating Pump has patented Travelling Valves designed to be run on tap throughout its life cycle. Engineered to mechanically relieve the pump of entrained, compressed gas in the pump barrel via the HARPTM Travelling Valve Stem and Tapping Spring dampener, maximizing pump efficiency and minimizing operator time required to put wells on and off tap multiple times to address gas locking issues. The pump is designed to be run in this manner without any reduction to the life of the pump.
