Edge Liability Risk Management (“Edge”) is happy to announce the appointment of Ed Dancsok, P.Eng., P.Geo. as Chief Operating Officer effective February 1, 2020.
Ed Dancsok is both a professional engineer and professional geoscientist with 37 years of oil and gas experience. Ed is the former head regulator of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources. As the Energy Assistant Deputy Minister, Ed demonstrated leadership in the promotion, development and regulation of the oil and gas industry in Saskatchewan during the most pivotal times of Saskatchewan’s oil and gas history. Ed is a former Board member of the Petroleum Technology Research Centre (PTRC). He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. Ed has co-authored a number of papers investigating the deeper petroleum resources in the Williston Basin of Saskatchewan.
“Ed has a reputation within industry as a strong leader with a proven history of shaping the regulatory policies that allow Saskatchewan to consistently be ranked as a preferred destination for oil and gas capital,” said John Styles, P.Eng, FEC, Executive Chairman of Edge. “In terms of oil and gas risk assessment, no one knows the province of Saskatchewan better than Ed Dancsok,” said Lex Ewen, P.Eng, CEO of Edge. “Ed’s experience as the head regulator, as well as by being both a professional engineer and professional geoscientist offer a unique perspective to help Edge solve the environmental liability problem facing western Canada.”
This comes on the heels of the announcement of Ed’s appointment as Executive Chairman of Rand Oil Ltd. Ed will be based out of Regina, Saskatchewan and can be contacted below.
