There’s so much energy-related news happening these days in our country – some good and some bad.

As one Western premier does all he can to side-track the energy prosperity of another premier – both of the same political party – there’s reason for Canadians to wish they could do something. Blocking infrastructure projects hurts the entire country from coast to coast.

And when the Prime Minister says, as he did in Edmonton yesterday morning, that he “will ensure that the Kinder Morgan pipeline gets built,” many would like to make it known publicly that they strongly support that message.

So, for those Canadians who are wondering how they can get involved in their own future, we want to suggest you do the following three things, and do them as soon as you can – today, if at all possible. Here are three actions we urge you to focus on today:

1. Answer this following poll, and then share it with your friends and family.

The one-question poll in the Vancouver Sun explains how the BC government is trying to restrict shipments of diluted bitumen from Alberta’s oil sands, thus creating an obvious barrier for Kinder Morgan’s $7.4 billion Trans Mountain Expansion project – which has already been approved federally and provincially.

The link will take you to a question that asks whether you agree with the BC government’s approach. I know I DON’T. How about you?

2. Contact the Prime Minister’s office. Tell his staff you agree with his latest statement in Alberta yesterday morning that “the pipeline will be built,” and thank him for enforcing the rule of law around this pipeline approval. When any politician says the right thing, they should know. Please tell him. Encourage him to continue working toward Canadian energy prosperity. You can reach his office:

3. Talk to your friends and family about how they can also show their support for a strong future for fair trade Canadian oil and gas, produced to the best environmental standards on earth. After all, it’s up to all of us to stay involved in ensuring a bright future for the largest single contributor to Canada’s economy.
