Innovative program offers space, mentoring and a panel of judges for start-ups.
CALGARY, AB
Tundra Process Solutions Ltd., a Western Canadian leader in the provision of process solutions for industrial, municipal and commercial markets, together with MNP, one of the largest accounting, tax and consulting firms in Canada, are pleased to announce they have joined forces in the Acceleration Centre for Entrepreneurs (ACE) program. Launched by Tundra in 2016, the ACE program helps to fast track the commercialization of near market-ready technologies that solve industries, pressing problems.
The innovative program selects applicants who are on the brink of commercializing carbon-reduction technologies focused on reducing costs and complying with new regulations. For added support, ACE provides mentorship and offers a high-tech space for entrepreneurs to thrive in. Participants also vie for partnering opportunities through Dragon’s Den style pitches to the ‘Tundra Tank,’ a panel made up of a Tundra executive and program sponsors including the law firm Bennett Jones, JWN, industry partners and now MNP.
“Tundra has spent the last 18 years building among the strongest relationships in the industry, and that’s really valuable to entrepreneurs,” said Erik Allan, ACE program director. “We are always looking to diversify our product offerings while providing more value to our customers, and this is a great opportunity for a company like Tundra to tap into the innovation that’s going on in our city.”
The ACE program directly aligns with MNP’s entrepreneurial vision and existing business coaching program, added Jeremy Rondeau, MNP Vice President of Oilfield Services.
“As an entrepreneurial firm, we are always looking for programs and partners that help support and celebrate the entrepreneurial drive that ultimately brings businesses and industries to a new level,” Rondeau said. “From helping set strategic direction and financial targets to helping improve operational effectiveness and employee engagement/ accountability, the coaching program allows the program participants to implement processes, structures feedback systems that help them manage their business better and more profitably over time.”
“It’s a win-win proposition for all participants,” added Allan. The successful applicants not only get to see their vision turn into a reality, but also bring their innovation to market with the guidance of MNP and Tundra.
