Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s carbon tax is making your grocery bill too expensive.
Your grocery bill increased by more than 11 per cent since last year, according to Statistics Canada. Trudeau’s carbon tax hikes are making your food more expensive.
Trudeau’s carbon tax increases the price of diesel and gas. Which means you pay more for everything that is shipped by truck.
Canadian farmers also pay the carbon tax on their propane and natural gas. The carbon tax will cost Canadian farmers $1 billion by 2030, according to the Parliamentary Budget Officer. And you can bet you’ll pay some of those costs through higher prices at the grocery store.
Trudeau’s carbon tax is all economic pain without the environment gain. The government should completely scrap the tax. At the very least, the carbon tax shouldn’t be used to drive up your food prices.
Right now, you have the chance to push politicians to scrap the carbon tax that hammers Canadian farmers.
There’s a private member’s bill that would scrap the Trudeau carbon tax on the natural gas and propane used on farms. That means you can push politicians to vote to cut the carbon tax and help lower your food prices. But you must act now.
You can tell members of Parliament on the agriculture committee to cut the carbon tax to reduce Canadian food prices. You can send emails to the addresses below:
· Liberal MP Kody Blois: [email protected]
· Conservative MP John Barlow: [email protected]
· New Democratic MP Alistair MacGregor: [email protected]
Thanks for fighting for taxpayers – it’s making a difference!
Sincerely,
· Robin, Shannon, Todd and the rest of the CTF team.
