The second phase of the PSAC STARS and Spurs Gala campaign presented by Precision Drilling is now underway with 50/50 Tickets on sale at www.STARSandSpurs5050.ca.  Get your tickets now to show your support for Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS).

This year, the theme of the Stars and Spurs Gala Campaign is: “essential Canadian values” – an identity shared by our energy industry and STARS – together providing an essential service supporting the collective good of our community.  For the first time, the PSAC STARS and Spurs Gala has created an opportunity for the broader community to participate in the fund raising.  Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC) Interim CEO Elizabeth Aquin says “our members have asked every year how we could broaden the traditional gala so that more people from their companies, clients, suppliers and other stakeholders can participate”. The sector PSAC represents employs roughly 400,000 of the 500,000 Canadians who work in the Canadian energy sector.

PSAC members in the service supply and manufacturing sectors of Canada’s energy industry, their valued Oil and Gas Exploration and Production customers, and their combined supply chain have always come together in support of STARS.  Illustrative of the commitment that Canada’s energy industry has to positive safety outcomes, healthy and vibrant communities, and the essential role our industry plays in the Canadian economy, the PSAC STARS and Spurs Gala campaign has launched a 50/50 lottery with the winner sharing half of the 1 Million maximum prize. The minimum jackpot is $400,000.

According to David McHattie, Tenaris Canada Vice President Institutional Relations, Vice Chair of PSAC, and Chair of the PSAC Stars and Spurs Gala Organizing Committee confirms that “It is this spirit of collaboration that marks our industry. By reaching out to all Albertans who directly or indirectly are positively impacted by Canada’s energy industry and STARS, we can raise more for STARS essential medical service and remind ourselves of the positive impact our industry has in our communities. Now more than ever, STARS needs our support and this is a great opportunity for the energy industry to remind Canadians about the positive impact the industry has in Canadian communities.”

Tickets are on sale in a variety of prices packages until midnight June 8, 2020.

The relationship that PSAC and STARS has had over the past 27 years, is because of our shared commitment to delivering world-class, timely service that is critical to the fabric of our community. PSAC proudly held the first of three planned events for its 27th annual STARS & SPURS Gala Campaign in February 2021, bringing total funds raised since its inception, to over $17 million for the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS). This is the longest-running and largest fundraiser in Alberta. The Safe-at-Home event, held on February 26, 2021, raised a remarkable $525,000. In addition to the 50/50 Lottery, the third event of the campaign is a Live Industry Auction presented by Bennet Jones and Di-Corp which will be held on June 10, 2021 and the winning 50/50 ticket will be announced.
