Capstone recently saved additional remediation work on an abandonment for a client in southern Alberta.
They were able to do this by definitively showing a marked reduction in flow and pressure on the surface casing vent that would not have passed a bubble test for several days utilizing their unique Ventmeter technology during abandonment operations.
This allowed the abandonment rig to be moved to another site to carry on with the campaign, and cancelled an additional squeeze on an up hole zone known for causing SCVF problems in the field.
Total operating time for the abandonment was minimized and 40% reduction in cost was realized.
