VANCOUVER – Ksi Lisims LNG LP (“Ksi Lisims LNG”) has entered into a Heads of Agreement (“HOA”) with Santos for the sale and purchase of 1 million tonnes per annum of LNG for a term of 20 years.
“Santos has built one of the most significant LNG businesses in the Asia-Pacific, and their decision to secure long-term supply from Ksi Lisims LNG reflects a shared commitment to responsible energy development and a clear view that supply diversity is essential to long- term energy security,” said Davis Thames, Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Western LNG. “The level of interest we are seeing from leading global energy companies like Santos reflects a growing global role for reliable, low-carbon Canadian LNG. This HOA is a strong signal of confidence in our project as we move into the final stages of commercialization and toward a final investment decision.”
Ksi Lisims LNG is designed to be one of the lowest-emissions LNG facilities in the world, leveraging clean hydroelectric power, significantly reducing lifecycle emissions compared to legacy facilities.
Sales to Santos will be on a Free On Board basis for up to 20 years and are subject to the completion of a Sales and Purchase Agreement (“SPA”).
Today’s agreement builds on Ksi Lisims LNG’s strong commercial momentum. The project has entered into SPAs with Shell, TotalEnergies, and Uniper for 6 mtpa, and we anticipate completing commercialization of its planned 12 mtpa capacity this year.
