South Bow Corp. reported net income of US$93 million in its third quarter, up from $61 million during the same period a year earlier.
The Calgary-based pipeline operator says its earnings amounted to 45 cents US per share in the quarter ending Sept. 30, up from 29 cents last year.
South Bow says revenue during the third quarter reached $461 million, down from $534 million during the same period a year earlier.
The company had an average throughput of 584,000 barrels per day on its Keystone pipeline during the period and 703,000 barrels per day on the U.S. Gulf Coast segment of the Keystone Pipeline System.
On April 8, the company had an oil spill on its Keystone pipeline near Fort Ransom, N.D., that forced it to shut down the line for a week.
In its latest earnings, South Bow says it estimates the cost of the incident at around US$55 million, which it expects to largely recover through its insurance policies by early next year.
