Global Energy Show

The Global Energy Show kicks off on Tuesday in Calgary with people from 100 countries expected to attend the conference that will include a keynote address from the head of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. The show is also expected to hear from chief executives from major Canadian and international energy companies and several political leaders, including Alberta Premier Danielle Smith.

Dollarama results

Dollarama Inc. will release its first-quarter financial results before markets open Wednesday and hold its annual meeting of shareholders. Dollarama chief executive Neil Rossy said earlier this year that the ongoing trade war was having “not an inconsequential impact” on the retailer, but he maintained the impact was manageable.

Transat results

Transat AT Inc. will report its second-quarter results on Thursday morning before the start of trading. Shares in the travel company soared last week after it announced a major restructuring of pandemic-era debt in a deal that forgives hundreds of millions of dollars owed.

Economic data

Statistics Canada will provide more detail on how the Canadian economy fared at the start of the second quarter on Friday. The agency is set to release its monthly survey of manufacturing and wholesale trade reports for April.

Roots earnings

Retailer Roots Corp. will report its first-quarter results and hold a conference call with financial analysts before markets open on Friday. The results follow a fourth quarter that saw its total sales and adjusted profit per share rise compared with a year earlier.
