BOAGS – Strengthening Industry and Community
The Bonnyville Oil and Gas Show (BOAGS) is one of Alberta’s premiere networking events for industry professionals. With the unique and welcoming atmosphere of a small town, this oil and gas show isn’t your typical industry event. It is an opportunity to unite industry professionals at an environment that encourages maximum networking potential. This year’s event will be held on June 21 and 22, 2023.
Launched in 2011, this biennial event quickly became recognized as a leader for making connections with their unique format, including the highly sought after Oilmen’s Room. This show brings you face to face with procurement professionals from the large industry producers in our region. At the Bonnyville Oil and Gas show you are guaranteed to make connections that will drive your business forward.
“When this show launched, the organizers thought hard about how to maximize value and impact for the exhibitors who attend, and that is when the idea for the Oilmen’s Room was launched,” said Serina Parsons, Show Director for the Bonnyville Oil and Gas Show. “In a reverse speed dating style, we give service providers the chance to meet face to face with decision makers of the large producer companies in our region. With growth in technology, we wanted to bring it back to the basics because when it comes to making quality connections there is no substitute for a handshake and a smile.”
The Oilmen’s Room is offered exclusively to exhibitors of the show and each exhibitor must register to secure their place. This year’s event has attendance confirmed by Canadian Natural, Inter Pipeline, and Strathcona Resources among others.
This is the 6th BOAGS and the first one since 2019. There is a renewed energy right now especially since we are coming out of the pandemic, the price of oil has increased and stabilized, and new projects are on the horizon. This is the show you want to attend! Northeast Alberta not only has some of the world’s largest oil reserves in the world, but also has growth potential with a new carbon capture facility that will be built here in the Lakeland will ensure economic growth potential for years to come.
With the commitment of the six largest oil sands producers who created and make up the Pathways Alliance, whose aim is to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, the growth in the oilfield has gone farther than just how many barrels are being produced. Pathways Alliance is the opening ceremony sponsor for this years BOAGS and their president, Kendall Dilling, will be speaking at the event.
“Our goal is to ensure the show includes the best connections, information and resources that impact our region. It is for this reason that we are so happy to provide the public with a chance to hear firsthand how Pathways Alliance will be positively impacting our region,” added Parsons.
The opening ceremonies will be held on the evening of June 20 and are open to the public. The BOAGS committee also want to recognize that June 21st is National Indigenous Peoples Day and to honor this there will be entertainment by 2023 Juno award winners, the Bearhead Sisters at the opening ceremony.
“We aim to ensure that the quality of this show stays high. That we maintain our welcoming reputation and that we continue to facilitate valuable connections. We know the importance of this industry to Alberta and our region and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to Bonnyville in June,” said Megan Wakefield, Show Coordinator.
The Bonnyville Oil and Gas Show will be held on June 21 and 22 at the Bonnyville Centennial Centre and is open to the public.
