Canada’s Oil and gas Sector is Committed to Lowering Emissions – CEC

Unlike many other oil-producing countries, Canada takes its environmental responsibility seriously. The oil and gas sector invests more than $1 billion per year in clean-tech research and development and is a proven leader in carbon capture and storage. Canada’s oil sands has been reducing its emissions intensity for the past decade and is set to make total emissions reductions in the next five years. Producers are also committed to reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.
