Trials for Rigless SCVF Remediation
Shell is actively working to reduce our liability for surface casing vent flow by seeking, developing and field testing new methods for SCVF remediation. This presentation will review the case for change, the methodology for SCVF abandonment, and the technology trials planned and executed in 2018 and 2019.
The session will be interactive and attendees are encouraged to come prepared with questions, as well as info to share on their own practices and success rates for SCVF remediation.
Bio for Shanna Nolan
I joined Shell Canada in 2010 after graduating with a mechanical engineering degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland. At Shell I have supported various assets in North & South America as a Completions and Well Interventions engineer, including Peace River Alberta, Groundbirch BC, Taylorstown Pennsylvania and Bolivia. I also spent 3 years as a wellsite supervisor for Completions. In my current role I am responsible for well interventions and abandonments in the Groundbirch field in BC, with a primary focus on wells with integrity issues including surface casing vent flows. I am keen to work towards better technical solutions to these challenges and in moving forward together as an industry through technology trials and shared learning.
