The CAODC congratulates Premier-Designate Jason Kenney on securing a decisive victory in the 2019 Alberta provincial election.
“I want to extend best wishes to Premier-Designate Kenney as he begins the formidable task of creating an environment for the province’s oil and gas industry to thrive once again,” says Mark Scholz, President and CEO. “The difficulties we’ve faced over the past several years cannot be overstated, and we need a government that is willing to partner with us to resurrect one of Canada’s most important sectors. To many of our fellow oil and gas workers who are out of work, underemployed, or otherwise without hope, it feels like spring has returned to Alberta.”
The Association looks forward to working with the new UCP government on issues related specifically to Canada’s drilling and service sectors, including repealing the carbon tax and reducing red tape.
“On a more macro level, we can’t emphasize enough how enthusiastic we are about partnering with a government that will go to bat for Alberta and its people by fighting for market access on a federal level, and partnering with a coalition of likeminded provinces to develop our world-class resource industries,” says Scholz. “Strong leadership in these efforts can only unify our country and enhance Canada’s prosperity from coast to coast to coast. More than anything else, we look forward to a renewed investment climate for our industry, and positioning Canada as the world’s first choice for ethically and responsibly produced oil and gas products.”
