CALGARY, Alberta – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Canadian UAVs (CUAVS), Canada’s leading unmanned aviation solutions provider for enterprise and military applications, is proud to announce that is has complete the first phase of it Transport Canada approved Beyond Visual Line of Sight operations. CUAVS was granted the first permit in Canadian history to conduct such operations outside of restricted airspace under the oversight of six Transport Canada field inspectors.
The project, which is based at Canadian UAVs testing facility west of Calgary Alberta, will enable CUAVS to validate it proprietary technology and advanced ‘airline grade’ safety infrastructure at scale. This novel project is in collaboration with Canada’s largest oil and gas companies which will provide direct feedback on data output from the trials.
“It is a huge milestone for our team to be granted the first BVLOS permit outside of the UAV test range in Foremost. The operations which lasted about a week put our UAVs and airspace management technologies through a series of extreme tests and I’m very proud to announce they performed without incident.
