Naqsmist Storytellers Inc. helps leaders and organizations cultivate emotional safety, relational accountability, and systems that last.

Founded by Elaine Alec from the syilx and secwepemc Nations, Naqsmist is rooted in decades of Indigenous governance, leadership, and community planning. We bring the Cultivating Safe Spaces framework into workplaces, governments, and communities to help people move from fear to trust, urgency to responsibility, and isolation to collective wellness.

Naqsmist Storytellers

We don’t teach extraction. We teach relational leadership practices that allow projects to move forward responsibly.

  • Cultivate safety → so communities and leaders can even come to the table.
  • Strengthen accountability → so words and actions align.
  • Regulate under pressure → so negotiations don’t spiral.
  • Hold relationships as the outcome → not just the deal.

The shift: the goal isn’t to “get consent.” The goal is to build the conditions where consent and collaboration are possible.
