Hold Pierre Poilievre to His Promise: Canada Has Many Carbon Taxes – Email Support and Hold Poilievre Accountable on His Fight Against Trudeau’s Carbon Tax: Canadian Taxpayers Federation

You probably heard the NDP pulled out of its agreement with the Liberal government.

Nobody knows when the next election will happen, but all parties are working on their election platforms right now.

The polls show that Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative Party are poised to form the next government.

Poilievre promised you he would scrap the carbon tax. Here’s what he said on the Canadian Taxpayers Podcast when we asked him if he would replace it with other forms of carbon taxes:

“I will not bring in any other carbon tax.”

Poilievre needs to know you’re going to hold him to this promise and keep fighting the carbon tax.

That’s because the media, activists and taxpayer-funded academics will fight Poilievre tooth and nail. They’re already scheming up ways to get Poilievre to impose new carbon taxes and keep the industrial carbon tax.

“The debate around the consumer carbon [tax] is sucking too much oxygen out of the room,” said Rick Smith, president of the Canadian Climate Institute. “Industrial carbon pricing is the most important contributor to carbon reduction across the country.”

Here’s the takeaway.

Even if Poilievre scraps Trudeau’s carbon tax, he will face tons of pressure to put in another form of carbon tax. And it doesn’t matter what type of carbon tax it is, it will cost you big time. Because if Ottawa hits businesses with a carbon tax, they don’t just eat that extra cost, they pass it on to YOU.
