Alstar is connecting business to communities and building a sustainable future for all Canadians
CALGARY, AB, August 29, 2022 / Alstar Group of Companies / – Alstar believes that creating a positive impact in Indigenous and local communities is key to their corporate success and gives them the opportunity to develop a social license to operate within communities in Western Canada.
“Our Corporate Social Responsibility is demonstrated in our commitments and actions. We strive to build vibrant communities through both financial and non-financial support. Alstar’s commitment to doing the right thing and supporting the people, places, and partners where they work is at the heart of our approach to business”, said Kris Ring, Executive Vice President.

Alstar has sponsored several charity events throughout this summer such as the recent Brian Burke’s Targets For Kids – organized in support of Kid Sport. This is a local organization that provides sports equipment and covers registration fees for children and youth.
Kid Sport is one of Alstar’s core community partners. Aside from providing financial support, Alstar shows support through volunteering activities and donating gently used sports equipment.
In addition to their community involvement, professional development opportunities for young people are evident within the organization. More than 10 years ago, Alstar had an opportunity to partner up with Careers, an organization focused on bringing young people into trades and guiding them in this journey. “We wanted to give back to the community, foster youth in trade and support them”, said Trevor Stoesz, Alstar’s Fabrication Manager about the program’s foundation.
Since 2010, Alstar has taken over 27 student RAP students, many students are now Journeyperson certified.

“Alstar is open to investing in youth interns as they believe in the value of training their workforce from the ground up, attracting and retaining local talent, and harnessing the energy and passion that the youth bring to the workplace”, said Corry Pepper, Careers’ Program Coordinator.
