CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Crew Energy Inc. (TSX:CR) (“Crew” or the “Company”) today announces certain executive changes and appointments.

With a clear focus on unlocking the value of Crew’s world-class Montney play in northeast British Columbia (“NEBC”), the Company has cultivated and continues to develop an experienced team of technically proficient and commercially-focused professionals. The depth provided by the growth and evolution of the individuals on our team has positioned the Company to transition from a resource capture stage to an execution-based focus.

Crew is pleased to announce the following individuals have been appointed to the Company’s executive team:

  • Mr. Paul Dever, Vice President Government and Stakeholder Relations – Paul formerly served as Director, Government & Stakeholder Relations and has been with the Company since 2005.  In his new role, Paul will continue to work closely with Crew’s Government and Community stakeholders to advocate for the advancement of the Company’s initiatives in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Alberta.  He will also have executive oversight responsibility for Crew’s Surface Land group.
  • Mr. Kevin Evers, Vice President Geosciences – Kevin was formerly Crew’s Manager, Geosciences and has been with Crew since 2007.  Kevin’s new position will include the oversight of Crew’s Geotechnical team, responsible for all exploration and development activities for the Company.
  • Mr. Mark Miller, Vice President, Land and Negotiations – Mark formerly served as Crew’s Land Manager since 2007.  In his new position, Mark will have responsibility for Crew’s land, corporate acquisition and divesture negotiations.  His responsibilities will also include oversight of the Company‘s Mineral Land group.

“I want to congratulate our new executive appointments whose roles have expanded to take on new responsibilities for Crew,” said Dale Shwed, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Each of these individuals will provide valuable operational expertise and leadership as we transition towards a pure-play NEBC Montney producer.”

After a successful 37 year career in the industry, Mr. Ken Truscott, Crew’s Senior Vice President, Business Development and Land has announced his retirement effective March 31, 2018.  Ken joined Crew in 2007 and was instrumental in consummating several key transactions over his tenure, allowing the Company to build and begin the development of its Montney land base in NEBC.

Mr. Shawn Van Spankeren, Crew’s Vice President of Finance, is leaving the Company to pursue an opportunity as Chief Financial Officer with a publicly traded junior oil producer.  Going forward, Crew’s accounting, financial reporting and treasury responsibilities will be managed by Crew’s controller, Mr. Craig Turchak and his team, with the support of John Leach, Chief Financial Officer.

“I want to thank Ken and Shawn for their significant contributions to Crew over the past 11 and 14 years, respectively,” continued Dale Shwed.  “We wish Ken the best for his well-deserved retirement and wish Shawn continued success.”
