With the growing prevalence of fracking in our industry many (if not all) operators experience issues with sand production, be it just initially or long term, on producing wells. This causes havoc on all varieties of surface equipment, leading to failures and downtime if not properly dealt with. Utilizing well testing services on till a well cleans up entirely is not economic in most cases. This is where the Desander concept was developed; a method to produce wells safety and sooner at a lower cost.
This concept was developed by three businessmen in the Three Hills area 15 years ago. Since 2001, SDI has been solving sand issues for over 200 operators and teaming up with over 50 engineer firms within the region. Specialized Desanders Inc.TM offers a wide range of sand management solutions, to be applied to the wellhead, to protect all the above ground infrastructure. Due to the progressive demand, we have been expanding into new markets including the U.S. and Australia.
