Edmonton, AB (Oct 3, 2016) – CanWeld Expo & Conference will welcome attendees to the Edmonton EXPO Centre at Northlands from Tuesday, October 4 to Wednesday, October 5, 2016 for Canada’s premier welding, metal fabricating and finishing event.

The event is comprised of a unique tradeshow featuring live working equipment and technology, a world class technical and business conference and unparalleled industry networking between decision‐makers from across Canada. Strategically located in Edmonton, Canweld Expo & Conference serves vital elements of the region’s oil & gas, agriculture, mining and general manufacturing supply chain.

The expo is held in partnership with the 7th annual CWB Group CanWeld Conference, the recognized premier Canadian educational platform in the field of welding and related technologies. Conference delegates will hear from over 40 speakers including a keynote luncheon from Craig Wright, Senior Vice President & Chief Economist at RBC, who will give a discussion on market trends and the economic future of the manufacturing and infrastructure industries.

“This is the industry’s flagship networking event, and place to learn the latest trends in the Canadian welding and fabricating industry,” said Ian Campbell, Director of the Marketing and Product Development for the CWB Group. “During these challenging times in the Canadian economy, it reinforces how significant it is to have a venue where all stakeholders can gather, ask questions, communicate and find solutions.”

The expo will feature live working equipment including robotics, metal fabricating equipment, plasma cutting systems and grinding technology. Experienced welders can sign up to compete in the CanWeld Best Welder Competition, which will be awarded at the CWA Foundation Gala Dinner on Wednesday evening. For those eager to learn, the CanWeld Simulator Welding Zone gives a taste of what it takes to become a welder.

“We’re thrilled to partner with the CWA in the most comprehensive CanWeld event to date. The expo will provide hands-on access to the latest technology and innovation from top industry suppliers to meet the increasing demands of the industry,” says Nick Samain, Vice President, dmg :: events, organizers of CanWeld Expo.

In 2017 the event will rotate to Eastern Canada, serving different regional industries including automotive, aerospace, transportation, medical device and energy manufacturing.

CanWeld Expo hours are Tuesday, October 4 from 10am – 5pm and Wednesday, October 5 from 10am – 4pm.

Media are required to pre-register in order to obtain a show badge for the event and will need to provide accreditation (a piece of photo identification and an official business card) upon arrival at main registration, located outside of Hall F of the Edmonton EXPO Centre.
