PEICE will be offering a new two-day “Understanding and Optimizing Well Performance” course in Calgary, also available for remote participation via our Live Virtual Training platform on June 21st & 22nd 2017.

This two day course is a concept and capability building course designed for engineers, technologists, service personnel and others involved directly or indirectly with the design and operation of wells.  Well performance basics and evaluation, production and operation concerns, flow assurance, completion design and workovers, and optimization solutions are all discussed.  The course provides an understanding of the fundamental factors affecting when and how a well begins to see performance changes, along with the process and design requirements to understand and optimize well productivity for both oil and gas wells.

The course is taught by two of RPS’ Senior Production Engineering Consultants, Mike Gallup (P.Eng),and Ida Ishaya (P.Eng).

Fluor

Mike Gallup has 17 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, with  key areas of expertise which include  completion design and optimization of oil and gas wells, well test design and analysis, gas well dewatering, and well and production system performance modeling.  Mike’s expertise also includes field development planning and economic assessments for offshore and onshore fields, both in Canada and internationally. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and a registered Professional Engineer in Alberta.

Idi Ishaya has over 22 years of experience in the oil & gas industry spanning production engineering, reservoir engineering and well services. Idi provides expertise in the areas of well modelling and artificial lift design in oil and gas wells for both conventional and unconventional reservoirs. He also provides expertise in well completion and stimulation design, including fracture stimulation in unconventional reservoirs. His regional experience covers Africa, Asia, North & South America, Europe and Australia/New Zealand. Idi is a member of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and a registered Professional Engineer in Alberta.
