Copper Tip Services: Pumping Safety First

A specialized nitrogen and fluid service provider in the oil and gas industry, Copper Tip Energy Services Inc. (‘Copper Tip’) has paved a unique niche for itself over the past four years. Quickly finding its place in the process, pipeline and well services market through their engineering and execution, Copper Tip’s specialized team delivers superior value while maintaining a focus on safety, risk minimization, and cost efficiency. Of course, Copper Tip’s success comes from a staff with decades of experience combined with an impressive resume of completed projects within the process, pipeline, and well servicing sector.

Founded in 2013 by Roger Stokowski, founder and former Chairman and CEO of Big Eagle Services, Copper Tip is built upon the strengths and foundation of a large corporation, but benefits from the leanness, flexibility, and service levels of a privately owned company. Stokowski himself states, “We offer a high level of service because we are a smaller company that is able to react quickly to our customer’s needs…Big wheels turn slowly; we’re a medium wheel and the biggest advantage we have is our newer equipment run by some of the most experienced people in the industry.”

The “experienced people” Stokowski refers to is his management team and field staff, many of whom have had long and successful careers in the oil and gas industry. This team works closely together to supply process, pipeline, industrial commissioning / pre-commissioning, and well services, providing a high level of expert guidance and support for both clients and complementary service providers. It’s a team who has the experience to trouble shoot and provide technical suggestions, to respond quickly to client emergencies, and to invest time in building relationships both with clients and other service providers. “Our relationships take time to build, but it doesn’t take long to build these relationships into repeat customers. We provide the same high level of service no matter where a client call comes from,” says Stokowski of his team.

Part of this strategy to provide superior service with a zero incident safety record is in having locations throughout Western Canada, including four deployment centres in Alberta (Nisku – head office; Bonnyville; and Grande Prairie) and one in Carlyle, Saskatchewan. With this number of centres, Copper Tip is quick to respond and provide safe solutions when the client needs them.

In developing responsive and effective nitrogen and pumping solutions for clients, Copper Tip takes extreme measures in ensuring a safe project. Embedded at their core – they have an industry leading HSE program – is guaranteeing that safety is their top priority above everything else. While Copper Tip works with clients to engineer effective solutions, safety is always built into their projects, ensuring that when the project is completed within the anticipated timeframe, there are no incidents of safety issues. “Our original management team, senior officers and operators have been working together incident free for over 10 years. We also ensure that all our operators have a high level of experience,” says Stokowski. “We don’t create any incidents on site and our safety record is zero across the board.”

While their experience and commitment to safety is certainly a positive differentiator of the company, it is also the quality of their fleet equipment and innovative technology. “Our equipment speaks for itself,” Stokowski proudly continues, “We have lots of happy customers who call us to comment on what a great job our operator did…and the unbelievable equipment we have.”

Having gained a reputation for having some of the best equipment in the industry, clients receive safe and efficient solutions customized to meet their needs. Copper Tip’s units are equipped with the latest computerized systems, along with several automated functions that allow for increased safety measures, reduced operator error, and quicker job completion. Along with this, their equipment provides readouts on pressure, temperature, and injection rates. With this information, clients are able to refer back to this data, guiding decisions surrounding future well and pipeline projects.

As Stokowski puts it, “Copper Tip is about giving our clients  the best service for their dollar. We give great returns because we stay on schedule while using the best equipment, with the highest level of safety.” And it’s this service for nitrogen and fluid pumping expertise that Copper Tip will continue to utilize for the benefits of the well services industry.
